Help: Managing passwords

Wikis > Resources & help > Help: Managing passwords

During the course you’ll be required to sign up to a number of different tools and web services (sorry about that). We’re going to show you a whole range of web tools – love them or hate them, at least by the end of the course you’ll have some idea how they work and can choose those that suit you.

It’s tricky remembering many passwords and usernames, so you might find it easier to keep a consistent username and password for all of the accounts you access. You can always change them later if you decide to keep using the account.

Passwords should probably be at least 8 characters, and the most secure passwords contain numbers, letters and symbols.

You may also find it is worth keeping details of each web address and username in a notebook. It is not recommended that you ever write down a password, so choose one that is easy to remember.
